Personally, 2010 was a very challenging year but a rewarding one, too. It will always be the year that my memoir was published, and I finally made peace with my past. I also changed my name to DeGeneres this year, although I don’t know when I’ll use it. I honestly changed it thinking, “Oh, that’s nice, I’ll have a social security card and passport with DeGeneres on it.” But it was really important for me to take her last name. I also got to go on The Ellen DeGeneres Show this year, which was good, but she made me cry.
